What this page is

In July 2024 AYZA issued a press release describing the restaurant and its wine and chocolate offering. It was distributed through a press release syndication service, which is why it appears on several unrelated news and business sites with identical wording.

That is worth stating plainly. Syndicated press releases are promotional material published by the company that issued them, not independent editorial coverage, and they are not reviews. The distinction matters if you are trying to work out what a restaurant is actually like, so we label it here rather than leaving it ambiguous.

What AYZA is known for

AYZA opened in 2007 and has been on the same block ever since. The dining room is lit by 33 handmade iridescent glass lights created by artist Sinem Disli, which give the impression of dining beneath a glowing night sky, and there is a heated garden filled with flowers behind it that stays usable well into the colder months.

The menu is built around two things. Chocolate, made in house and served as pairing flights, fondue for two and Chocolate Martinis, which have been the signature drink here since the beginning. And New York wines, with Dr. Konstantin Frank Grüner Veltliner, Brotherhood Riesling, Keuka Cayuco Brut and dry rosé, and Bully Hill Cabernet Franc all poured by the glass alongside French, Italian and Californian bottles.

How we handle press and syndication

Three principles, stated so there is no ambiguity. Press releases issued by AYZA are labelled as such, with their syndication links marked, rather than presented as coverage. Archive pages carry the date of the original release and a note that details may have changed. And where an archived figure differs from the live menus, the live menus are correct.

For press enquiries, images or interview requests, use the contact page. For a table, use Resy. For anything involving a group of six or more, the private events team is the right first contact.
